Next Stop: Winfield Crooked Creek Days 8/3/18

Join us for Winfield Crooked Creek Days Friday, Aug 3rd – Sunday, Aug 5th!

This annual town celebration is always a hit with the whole family.

The festivities start off on Friday with the Carnival opening at 5 pm and then the fun begins with the Cardboard Boat Regatta at Twinn Lakes Golf Course at 6 pm!  4 Person or better/BIG Boats will race last.

Following the Cardboard Boat Regatta will be the Family Friendly Street Dance (at Twin Lakes).

From 8 to midnight there will also be live music by Neil Hewitt @ The Welcome Inn.

Saturday, Aug 4th

7 am starts the day with a Pancake Breakfast at the Presbyterian Church and Registration for the Cooked Creek Fun Run begins.

At 7:30 The Cooked Creek 5k Fun Run starts.

10 am the Parade starts. As well as the Craftiest Chair Contest begins. (enter chairs at 9:30 am)

Food Vendors and Carnival open at 11 am.

At Noon is the Kids Tug of War. and at 12:30 the Frozen T-Shirt Contest starts.

Youth Bags Tournament runs from 1:30 to 4:30 and a Kids Water Balloon Toss is at 2pm.

An annual crowd favorite the Bill Riley Talent Show is at 5 pm on the Main Stage.

The adult Bags Tournament begins around 8:30 pm (must be registered prior to 7 pm)

9 am is the “Adult Street Dance” with live bank Stumptown.

Sunday, August 5th

11 am – 1 pm : The JR Hewitt memorial Car Show.

Food Vendors open at 11.

12:30 pm Horse Shoe Tournament Begins (register at 11:30)

Carnival opens at Noon.

Adult Firefighter Water Fights start at 1 pm with registration at Noon.

At 2 pm Car Show Trophies will be presented.

Festivities will conclude with the ever favorite Darrell Hewitt memorial fireworks at Twin Lakes Country Club at Dusk (Popcorn will be served by the Methodist Church).

Sigourney’s Crawford, Conrad named all-district

Despite losing in the first round of the playoffs, the Sigourney Savage baseball team still had a relatively successful year at 12-10.  Their season was also good enough, according to the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association, to warrant two selections to the all southeast-district teams.

Washington’s Murphy earns Academic All-State honors
