The subject material that the Saving Brinton documentary is focused on will be on display in Ainsworth this weekend.

The annual Brinton Film Festival will take place at 7 p.m. this Friday and Saturday at the Ainsworth Opera House Community Center. This is the 22nd year of the festival hosted by local historian Michael Zahs, “And what makes it even more exciting this year is that the film festival in Ainsworth is the longest running film festival in Iowa. There was a film festival that started before we did but it no longer runs and so we are now the longest running film festival in Iowa which I think is a big deal.”

Zahs says the frequent screenings of the film Saving Brinton has inspired fans around the world to want to attend the film festival in which the silent films will be shown. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday with an ice cream social and the films will be shown from 7:45-8:45 p.m. A freewill donation will be accepted with proceeds going towards the Ainsworth Opera House.
