With their loss to HLV in round two of the playoffs, the Highland Husky baseball team capped off the program’s fifth straight winning season.

The Huskies dove straight into conference play, with wins against Lone Tree and Louisa-Muscatine to get out to a 2-0 start on the year.  They would fluctuate throughout the year against Superconference foes, finishing right in the middle of the pack at 8-8 in conference play.

The team returns all of its pitchers from this season; a staff that finished with a total team ERA of 2.51.  Brody Burton was the ace for the Huskies all season long, working 44.2 innings and boasting a 1.26 ERA and 82 strikeouts through seven starts.  He will be back for his senior season next year.

This was a fairly young team, losing just one senior to graduation in Robert Yoder, a second-team all-conference selection.  They will have 17 players returning next year.
