After coming an upset short of another shot at the state tournament, the eighth-ranked Sigourney Savage softball team finished with a 21-7 record on the year.

The Savage season was remarkable to say the least; remarkable enough to clinch themselves home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.  A shocking shutout loss to New London ended their campaign, but there was a lot to be proud of.

The seniors tore it up, with Autum Barthelman swiping 42 bases, good for sixth in class 1A, and Madi Schauf driving in a class-high 50 runs.  Leah Carter also had a great senior season, finishing with a .372 batting average and sporting a stout .971 fielding percentage.

Junior Jordan VanEe was outstanding in the circle, allowing only 32 earned runs in 136.2 innings of work while striking out 109.  Megan Stuhr also had a great offensive showing in her sophomore season, driving in 36 runs and cracking a team-high five home runs on a .446 batting average.

The Savages lose only Barthelman, Carter and Schauf to graduation, and retain their remaining 15 players.
