Motorists should be aware of road closures as RAGBRAI makes it way through southeast Iowa this Friday.

In Keota West Washington Avenue from Highway 77 to North Lincoln Street, North Lincoln Street from West Washington to West Broadway Avenue, and West Broadway Avenue from North Jefferson Street to Keokuk-Washington Road will be closed from 5 a.m.- 1 p.m. Friday, possibly opening sooner depending on the flow of bicycle traffic. Next stop is Wellman where 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Streets from 7th Avenue to 9th Avenue and 8th Avenue south of Highway 22 will be closed. Riders will then head to Kalona where B Avenue from Highway 1 to 6th Street, and 4th and 5th Streets from C Avenue to A Place will all be closed from 5:30 p.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Saturday. Bicyclists will “Ride Long and Prosper” through Riverside where Ella, River, and Washington Streets south of Highway 22, and Greene Street from Highway 22 to 2nd Street will be closed. Pioneer Street, or Riverside Road south of the city will be open and manned by local authorities to help traffic, but officials recommend drivers use an alternate route. Bicyclists will then head to Hills on their way to Iowa City for their overnight stop on the 46th annual RAGBRAI.
