The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association released its all-district lists recently, and Highland’s Brody Burton and Robert Yoder’s names were on the list of first-teamers.

Yoder, a senior this year, was named one of four all-district outfielders for the southeast portion of the state.  In his final season, he led the team in RBI (25), tied for the team lead in hits (33), and was one of two Huskies to hit a home run.  His .423 batting average and 22 stolen bases were both second-highest on the team.

Burton was successful in multiple facets of the game in his junior season.  He was Highland’s ace pitcher and would fluctuate between the three and clean-up spots in the batting order.  His accolades on both sides of the ball earned him a utility spot on the all-district team.

Offensively, Burton finished the year with a .393 batting average, 21 RBI, and a team-high 22 runs scored.  He also finished fourth in the entire Southeast Iowa Superconference with 25 stolen bases.  On the mound, he sported a 1.26 ERA in 44.2 innings pitched, walking 20 and striking out 83.
