The Washington Demon softball team will play three more regular season games before round one of the playoffs Thursday night.

The Demons will head down to Central Lee tonight for a single game against the Hawks.  Tomorrow brings a conference double-header against Fort Madison that has already been rescheduled twice.

That will wrap up the regular season, with the Demons taking on Clear Creek Amana in Oxford round one of regional play on Thursday.  As close as the playoffs are, head coach Ben Obermann says he doesn’t want his team worrying about them just yet.

“I’ll worry about Clear Creek right now, but I don’t want our girls worrying about them.  I’ll prepare for them and go watch them play this weekend,” Obermann said.

“But still, our focus is game by game.  First off, we want to go down to Central Lee and get a good non-conference victory, then bounce back and take two from Fort Madison.  We want to finish the regular season strong, building up momentum for Clear Creek.  Once we finish Tuesday night in Fort Madison, then obviously our focus goes to Clear Creek.  Because if you don’t perform in the postseason, you’re one and done and going home.”

That first round game against Clear Creek will be on KCII Thursday night with the Washington HyVee Pregame Show at 6:30, first pitch at 7:00.
