After a 10-18 campaign, the Lone Tree Lion baseball team had four players named to the all-conference teams in some capacity for the northern division of the Southeast Iowa Superconference.

Two first-teamers highlighted the Lions’ selections in junior Avery Knock and sophomore Brady Dauber.  They finished the year with the top two batting averages on the team.

Knock was first in that mark, batting a stellar .423 in 71 at-bats this year.  He also led the team in RBI with 22, tied for the team-lead in extra-base hits with 10 (seven doubles, three triples), and also led in the other percentage categories with a .576 on-base percentage and a .606 slugging.

Dauber had an outstanding sophomore season, hitting just under the .400 mark at .390.  He was the team’s leader in runs scored (31), hits (32), and swiped a team-high 24 bases on 27 attempts.  Dauber was also one of the Lions’ best pitchers on the season, sporting a team-low 3.42 ERA through 28.2 innings of work.

There weren’t any second team selections for Lone Tree, but their selections were rounded out with two honorable mentions in sophomore Keegan Edwards and senior Dakota Smith.

Edwards was also great this season, being one of only four players on the team to bat over .300 with a .322 average on the year.  He was second on the team in runs scored (28) and RBI (20), and was one of three players (Knock and Dauber being the others) to put up double-digit steals with 17.

Smith saw most of his success on the pitcher’s mound in his final season.  In seven starts and one relief appearance, he tossed 26.1 innings and sported a 3.72 ERA.  He also tied for second among Lion pitchers in strikeouts with 33.
