After posting a winning season, the Winfield-Mt. Union softball team got some all-conference recognition this season, with four Wolves being named All-SEISC in some capacity.

Pitcher Madie Anderson is the lone wolf on the first team.  Anderson was astounding in her freshman season; her 1.90 ERA was the fourth-lowest in the conference, and she was atop the conference in strikeouts with 249.  Her 249 punch-outs were also good to put her in the top 15 in the state across all classes in that category.

Anderson also posted a .299 batting average from the plate; her 20 hits were tied for the second-most on the team.

Catcher Molly Miller, another freshman, was named to the second team.  She was the team’s offensive leader all season, hitting five home runs and driving in 25 while sporting a .388 batting average.  Her five homers were tied for top in the conference.

On top of those two, two more Wolves, senior Maci Richardson and eithth-grader Carlee Sloan, and were given honorable mentions.

Offensively, Richardson was second on the team in RBI with 15.  She was about as reliable as they come defensively, with only three errors across 19 games.

Sloan was also great in her first varsity season, notching 17 hits (good for fourth on the team).  She produced all around, posting 5 stolen bases, walked a team second-best six times, and was one of only three players on the roster to notch a triple.

The Wolves finished their season at 11-8, which gave the program its first winning season in recent memory.  They graduate three seniors in Richardson, Dakota Haines and Lauren Jamsion and bring back the remaining 14 players.
