The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team is on the campus of Simpson College in Indianola this week for a team football camp.

The Hawks are participating in drills with members of the Storm coaching staff and competitions against larger schools. The camp features individual instruction, team practice, full contract, practices and scrimmages. This week, Mid-Prairie head football coach Pete Cavanagh talked about the goals for his team to take from the experience. “We get to see what we got. How we’re going to compete, get to go against some bigger schools. You’re getting after it. This will be great for us. It’s always good to get the kids away from home in a team bonding atmosphere. It’s a good evaluation piece, plus we get some practices in and it gets us prepared for our own camp next week.”

Mid-Prairie will host their own camp next week in Wellman. Signup information is available online at mphawks.org and on the Mid-Prairie football Facebook page.
