A concrete overlay project on Riverside Road is now fully completed.

As of Monday July 23rd the north portion of Riverside Road from Spruce Avenue to the City of Riverside is now open to traffic. The south portion of Riverside Road from G36 to G26 was opened to traffic on July 18th. The project began on April 2nd to resurface and widen the existing pavement with six inches of Portland cement concrete and involved paving a portion of the shoulders. Streb Construction of Iowa City was awarded the project for $3,704,260. Surface Transportation Program and Farm to Market construction dollars were used to pay for the project. In addition, the paved shoulders were paid for by two separate $500,000 Traffic Safety Improvement Program grants.
