Description: YMCA of Washington County and PAWS & More Animal Shelter are hosting a Dog Jog 2 mile walk/jog at Sunset Park at 9 a.m. Saturday August 25th. Entry fee is $20 and all participants will receive a dog scarf and frisbee. A doggie paddle dog swim at the Steele Family Aquatic Center will also take place from 9 a.m.-noon that day for $5 entry fee with proceeds benefiting the animal shelter. They are also accepting new dog or cat toys.

Louisa Co Hunter Course

Title: Louisa Co Hunter Course
Description: A Louisa County Hunter Education course will be offered on Thursday August 16th from 6-9 p.m. at the American Legion Hall Post 100 in Columbus Junction and Saturday August 18 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Langwood Education Center. Students must attend both classes in order to become certified. Snacks and drinks will be provided both days, participants should bring a sack lunch on Saturday. The course is free to attend, register at the Iowa DNR website.
