The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team saw their season come to an end Tuesday night in Williamsburg at the hands of the Raiders by a 9-3 score in the quarterfinal round of the class 3A regional tournament.

In a game heard on KCII, the Hawks got on the board first, scoring a single run in the top of inning one when Rylee Vercande doubled to lead off the game and came home on a sac fly from Kylee Kos. Williamsburg answered the Mid-Prairie run in the bottom half of the frame with four of their own including a two run homer off the bat of Ashley Hooper to take a lead they would not give up the rest of the night. Williamsburg tacked on a single run in every inning. The Golden Hawks got on the board with single runs in the fourth when Cassidy Rourke grounded out to drive in Georgia Nisly and in the fifth when Shelby Zahradnek came home. In total, Williamsburg pounded out 16 hits en route to the win. Rourke took the loss for the Hawks, going four innings giving up seven runs on 12 hits. Anna Vilovchik led Mid-Prairie at the plate going three for four including a triple. With the loss the Hawks end their season at 4-25 and say good bye to seniors Vilovchik and Zahradnek.
