The Sigourney Savage baseball team ended their season last night, losing to Cardinal of Eldon in the first round of the playoffs by a 4-0 score.

The Savages couldn’t seem to figure out the Cardinal pitchers, as they notched only three total hits as a team and struck out 19 times throughout the seven innings.  Brett Striegel had two of those hits, and Peyton Schauf notched the other.

Schauf also got the start on the mound for Sigourney, going four innings and giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits and striking out nine.

With the loss, their season ends at an overall record of 12-10.  They did not have a single senior on the roster this year.
