The Sigourney Savage softball team will continue their run to the state tournament after shutting out conference foe Tri-County 7-0 on Tuesday.

Sigourney showed who they were from the start, scoring three runs in the home half of the first inning.  They added two more runs in both the fourth and the sixth to seal the deal.

Madi Schauf led the way at the plate for the Savages, going 4-4 with a homer, three RBI and a run scored.  Jordan VanEe was the pitcher of record in that one, pitching the complete game, three-hit shutout.

They’ll go at it again on their home turf on Friday when they face off against New London.  First pitch for that one is currently scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
