Severe Weather Action Team Brings Coverage of Storms Friday

Severe thunderstorms swept across Washington County Friday.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 4:07 p.m. for east central Washington County as well as northwestern Louisa, south central Cedar, southeastern Johnson, and Muscatine counties. Trained weather spotters reported downed tree branches in Ainsworth. The warning for Washington County ended at about 4:30 p.m. A second severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 5:30 p.m. for northwestern Washington County and expired at about 6 p.m. Four members of the KCII Severe Weather Action Team brought you live coverage of the storm and had the power gone out, KCII would stay on the air with our emergency backup generators.
