Whether you’ve got a pair of wheels between your legs or you’re a local resident, the City of Wellman encourages you to support local organizations fundraising when RAGBRAI comes through town.

Some of the local organizations participating are the Wellman Rotary Club, Prairie Power Relay for Life team, and Iowa Mennonite School PTO. Wellman City Council member Shannon McCain is one of the organizers for RAGBRAI, “We have I believe it’s right at 25 different vendors. We have our beer garden that’s coming together, shaping up really nice. We’re going to have a bunch of IPA’s and craft beers so we’re really excited about it we’re actually going to have in our beer garden area a giant beer pong where we’ll have 50 gallon drums and a volleyball that you’ll be throwing into it so that they’ll have some games. We’re going to have multiple games that we’ll have that and the sand putting green will be the biggest parts of our beer garden.”

McCain says they’re fortunate to have the Mid-Prairie football team volunteering throughout the day to handle tasks such as garbage but the city also encourages any residents interested to volunteer this Friday. Call 319-646-2154 for more information.
