The Winfield-Mt. Union football team fell to 0-2 on the early season as they dropped their home opener to English Valleys 74-12.

The Bears took control early, leading 24-6 after one quarter and 36-6 at the half. The Bears put the game out of reach with a 30 spot in the third quarter to take a 66-6 lead into the final 12 minutes. EV outgained WMU 513-77 in total in the game including 400-36 on the ground. Cooper Andreassen led the Bears with 15 carries for 205 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Winfield-Mt. Union was led by Juanito Piper with 15 carries for 32 yards and a score. The Wolves will next be in action Friday when they host Tri-County.
