The Washington County Board of Health resumed a previous conversation about E-cigarette regulations at Thursday’s meeting.

In the spring, the group discussed a possible ordinance that would prohibit vaping and E-cigarette use in the county. The only ordinances on record for the county involve prohibiting tobacco use on courthouse grounds, aside from the parking lot. Discussion regarding an ordinance turned toward the difficulty in enforcement, and the fact that it would only apply to unincorporated territory in the county. From there the topic of a resolution was raised, wherein, the board would propose a resolution to the Board of Supervisors for their consideration to present a stance to the public about the county’s dedication to this topic and allowing city governments to propose their own enforceable ordinance they desired. The draft of a resolution will be presented at a future Board of Supervisors meeting.
