The Highland baseball team ended their year at 17-12; yet another winning season.  Some of those wins (four, to be exact) were the direct result of play from Brody Burton.

Burton wore many hats on the Husky team; he played shortstop, DH’d and was the team’s ace pitcher.  He posted ace numbers throughout the year on the mound, finishing with a 1.26 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 44.1 innings pitched, all career-highs.

After just 11 at-bats a season ago, Burton also broke out on the offensive side of the baseball.  He finished second on the team in RBI (21) and batting average (.393), and was tops on the team in runs scored (22), stolen bases (24) and extra-base hits (8; six doubles, two triples).

Burton will return next summer for his senior season.
