The Washington County Conservation Board will be swearing in a new board member at a special meeting Monday.

Kim Prier of Ainsworth has been appointed to fill the vacancy left by Linda Finke on March 26th. Conservation Executive Director Steve Anderson says there was a large number of qualified applicants for the board. He shares what qualities Prier possesses to serve as a board member, “She is a very business [minded] person so she’s very good at that. She’s very active in the outdoors, she fishes a lot, she has hunted, she is a very active runner. So she is an outdoor person as is her husband and her daughter.”

Prier’s term is expected to end December 31st, 2019. Another item on the meeting agenda is a resolution to release the easement for the westernmost approximate 500 feet of the Kewash Nature Trail. The conservation board meets at 6 p.m. Monday at the conservation education center at Marr Park.
