Five Iowa Mennonite Softball Players Honored by Superconference

The Iowa Mennonite School softball team placed five players on the All-Southeast Iowa Superconference teams that were announced recently.

The lone first team selection came at utility for senior Avery Blauvelt. Blauvelt led IMS with her .429 batting average, fifth in the Superconference. Her .694 slugging percentage was second in the conference and her .508 on base percentage was fourth.

Junior Rubye Ney was a second team selection in the outfield. Ney hit .333 at the plate, scored a team high 17 runs, and tied for the team lead with six stolen bases.

Sophomore Mia Graber received second team honors at the utility spot. Graber, coming off of a knee injury that she suffered during volleyball season, hit .333, driving in 12 on 16 total hits.

Senior Hannah Harris was an honorable mention selection. Harris hit .364 at the plate, second best on the team with 16 hits and 10 driven in. In the circle, Harris threw 63 innings with a 5.78 ERA and 1-10 record. She threw the majority of innings on the year for IMS.

Junior Suzanna Yoder was also an honorable mention selection. Yoder finished with a .245 average the plate, connected for 13 hits, five RBI and scored 14 runs on the season. She also swiped six bases. In the circle Yoder threw 13 innings, finishing with a 1-0 overall record.

IMS ended the season with a 3-16 record.
