A Washington woman has been given five years probation for embezzlement from Archer Appliance Electronics.

At a sentencing held August 3rd as part of a plea agreement 48-year-old Robin Renee Guengerich entered a guilty plea to one count of theft in the second degree, a class D felony. The state will dismiss the second count with costs assessed to Guengerich and she will pay restitution. The state has 30 days to file a restitution statement. The court gave Guengerich a deferred judgment and is placed on probation not to exceed five years; she is ordered to pay a civil penalty in the amount of $750 plus a 35% surcharge and a law enforcement initiative surcharge of $125. She will also pay court costs and her court-appointed attorney’s fees, perform 100 hours of community service under the direction of her probation officer, and must submit a DNA sample. According to the criminal complaint Guengerich admitted to taking money from the business where she was employed as the bookkeeper. It was discovered that a total of $15,081.37 was taken from three different accounts in the period of May 1-July 25, 2017. Guengerich admitted to taking money from the bank deposits and falsifying the deposit slips. Guengerich turned herself into the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on August 30th of last year.
