The Highland volleyball team started off their season Monday night by falling in a pair of games to KCII area opponents Keota and Mid-Prairie.

The first game was against Keota, which the Huskies lost two sets to none.  Both sets were close, with the second one even going into extra points.  Aly Stokes had a big game across the board, leading the team in kills (4), digs (9), total blocks (2), successful serves (9) and service aces (3).

The Mid-Prairie game was a 2-1 loss.  The Huskies lost by eight points in set one, but came back to take set two by two points.  The third and final set was close as well, with Mid-Prairie taking the victory 15-12.  Kristy and Macey Thomann led the way in that one, each posting four kills and two ace serves.

They’ll take to the court again on Saturday at the West Branch tournament.
