The Iowa Mennonite School cross country team put in a unique form of off-season work in July to get ready for the upcoming year.

Head coach Marty Gingerich and the team traveled to Colorado last month to get training in to prepare for the year. The program has been taking this trip periodically since 2004. This year staying in the front range of the Rocky Mountains, in Palmer Lake, Colorado, about 25 miles north of Colorado Springs. Other stops on the trip included Canyon City for white water rafting and a tour of the Royal Gorge, Garden of the Gods, Boulder, Brainard Lake and Glacier, Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp, and Pike’s Peak.

The Iowa Mennonite School cross country team opens the season with their annual early bird meet on Tuesday, August 28th.
