The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team ended the 2018 season with a 12-17 overall record.

Their best stretch of the season came early, as they opened the year 5-0 with wins over Keokuk, North Cedar, Keota and a doubleheader sweep of West Liberty. The Golden Hawks hit .210 as a team, led by Brad Tornow and his .303 average. He also led the Mid-Prairie offense with 23 total hits, and 20 walks. Jacob Leonard had the team lead with 15 RBI, Keaton Duwa’s 15 runs scored were the most and Eli Steckly and Peyton Miller each had 11 stolen bases.

On the mound the Golden Hawks had a team ERA of 3.77, led by Tornow and his 1.69 mark with a 4-4 overall record, striking out 70 in 42 innings.

Mid-Prairie had two all-conference selections this season with Tornow and Rex Peck. The Golden Hawks were eliminated from the playoffs in the district semifinal round by Iowa City Regina.
