Three people were arrested in Iowa County after two stolen vehicles were recovered.

According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office at about 5:15 p.m. Friday the sheriff’s office responded to the Victor eastbound rest area on Interstate 80 at mile marker 208 after receiving information there might be a stolen vehicle out of Missouri at that location. Deputies located the vehicle and found it was occupied by two female subjects, 28-year-old Celesta A. Peppers and 38-year-old Gwendolyn L. Herbert of Chicago. While deputies were monitoring the vehicle and its occupants, a second vehicle occupied by two males approached the female subjects. The second vehicle was also discovered to have been reported stolen out of Missouri. Three of the four subjects were arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. Peppers, Herbert, and 38-year-old William E. Pinder of Chicago were all charged with first degree theft, a class C felony. The females were also charged with providing false identification to deputies, a serious misdemeanor.
