The WACO volleyball team had a successful start to their season last night, falling in the finals of their home tournament to West Burlington to cap off a 2-1 evening.

The semifinal game was against Pekin.  They hung in closely with the Warroirs through the first set, which WACO took 21-19.  The second set of that one was a different story, with the Warriors taking a commanding 21-10 victory to win the game on a 2-0 sweep to advance.

The finals came against West Burlington, who ended up beating the Warriors 2-0.  Set one was a 25-15 West Burlington victory.  The Warriors battled it out in set two though, falling by just five.

They’ll have to wait until September 1 to see their next action, which comes at the English Valleys Tournament.
