Washington County and southeast Iowa spent much of the overnight hours Sunday into Monday afternoon and early evening getting wet.

A total of 0.75″ of rainfall was recorded at the KCII studios, moving the City of Washington’s total for the month of August to 2.5″ of precipitation. Despite the needed rainfall, Washington County has still been dryer than normal this month, with the average August seeing the area receive 4.25″ of rain. The forecast for the rest of the month is calling for temperatures to rise into the 80s and 90s and dry conditions across the area. Stay tuned to KCII for weather updates.
