The Iowa State Fair is over, but results are still coming in for 4-H’ers and area residents who participated in shows, displays, and competitions at the fair.

Wendy Boyse of Wellman received first place in the Class A competition of the state women’s horseshoe contest, and Henry Yoder of Kalona received second place in the fifth and sixth grade division of the youth spelling bee. Rylie Shettler of Sigourney advanced to the semi-final round of the Bill Riley Talent Search with a vocal solo. Washington County 4-H members participated in several livestock exhibits, as well as 49 non-livestock projects.
