The king and queen have been crowned for this year’s homecoming at Columbus Community High School.

Santiago Lopez and Gloria Montiel were named reigning royalty at Monday night’s coronation. The court also included Anna Hamilton, Vanessa Mena, Deandria Ramirez, Yosmeli Vega, Jose Cerezo, Chance Colby, Coletrane Sipes, and Fernando Zepeda. It’s a musical journey through time this homecoming as Columbus students dressed up as greasers versus preps for ‘50s day on Monday, Tuesday was hippie day, Wednesday is ‘80s band bad hair day, Thursday is disco day, and Friday will be blue and white for blues day. There will be a pep assembly at Roundy Elementary on Thursday and class competitions at the high school Friday with games of flag football, volleyball, and dodgeball. The Columbus Wildcats football team will claw the Mediapolis Bulldogs Friday at 7 p.m. with a homecoming dance from 8-11 p.m. Saturday.
