A woman was arrested following a report of a dog left in a car in Washington Sunday afternoon.

According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 12:19 p.m. a caller reported to dispatch that a dog was barking inside a car that was parked directly in the sun with windows barely cracked. Washington Police responded and the subjects left while the officer was in his vehicle. Law enforcement located the subjects and arrested 52-year-old Marilyn Ann Vaughn of Burlington for interference with official acts, no valid drivers license, and no proof of insurance. A written warning was also given for a barking dog. Two dogs were then turned over to the city’s dog catcher.
