The Highland Huskies were not favored Friday night, facing off against sixth-ranked Alburnett on the road. But by the end of the night, they went from underdog to top dog, winning by an 18-8 score.
The Huskies were coming off a big win at home against Columbus and were looking to ride momentum. Some may have chalked up last week’s 48-16 victory as a fluke due to the youth and inexperience on the Wildcat roster. But the defense came through again; in the big time this time.
So, is Highland the real deal? We’ll see on Friday when they welcome fifth-ranked Lynnville-Sully into town for their second home game of the year. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
