September has been recognized as National Preparedness Month. Within that, September 15th is National Day of Action.
FEMA promotes National Day of Action with events including Prepareathanons which are events hosted by individuals throughout the country to make sure that should a disaster strike you are ready with a plan. FEMA suggests that you make yourself aware of the type of disasters that could affect your area and what to do, learn how to be the help until help arrives, and more.
