Severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings were issued in the KCII listening area Tuesday afternoon and the KCII Severe Weather Action Team brought you live coverage of the events. At 1:17 p.m. a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for southwestern Washington County, it expired at 2 p.m. A tornado warning was issued for southeastern Washington County at 1:19 p.m. and was radar indicated; it expired at about 1:40 p.m. A tornado warning was issued for central and northern Louisa County at 1:48 p.m. The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado was on the ground near Columbus City and Columbus Junction moving northeast at 20 miles per hour. Also, there was radar indicated rotation.

At 2:13 p.m. another tornado warning was issued for southeastern Washington County, northeastern Henry County and Central Louisa County. The tornado warning expired at 2:20 p.m. for Washington County.
