The WACO Warrior football team hit the road to take on the Warriors of HLV, losing by a 48-36 score.

It was tight throughout the first half, with the lead changing twice.  It was a one-score game at the break, with HLV leading 28-22.  From there, it was almost all HLV.

It was a very defensive third quarter, with only one score being put on the board by either team.  After that third-quarter touchdown, HLV went up 36-22 to go into the final frame.  WACO would score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but HLV matched them every step of the way.

Colton Horak put on a show on the road, putting up 310 total yards and four total touchdowns.  He did fumble the ball twice, however, which accounted for two of the Warriors’ three turnovers.  Nik Coble had a good game at the quarterback spot, going 10 for 19 for 153 yards, three touchdowns and an interception.

Their next game comes at home this Friday night when they welcome Winfield-Mt. Union to town.  Kickoff is set for 7:00.
