After taking a beating from third-ranked New London a week ago, the WACO Warrior football team is hungry for redemption as they welcome Montezuma to town.

The Warriors lost 71-12 on the road last week.  It’s homecoming this week, which means the team will be even more eager to get out and play.  But even with all the potential distractions, head coach Chad Edeker says the festivities come at a great time in the season, and guys stick with the process very well.

“Having homecoming week is probably coming at a good time, because they won’t dwell on this loss.  They’ll focus on homecoming activities and what we’ve got going on,” Edeker said.

“As much as I don’t like [homecoming week], the kids really do a good job of focusing on the game during practice.  We don’t have a lot of outside interference during practice; they do a good job of staying there and keeping focused.  So w e’ll get a game plan together and put it together, and they’ll execute it.  We know they will; they always do.  They’re a good group of kids.”

Kickoff in Wayland is set for 7:00.
