The WACO football team played their first home game of the season last night, coming out victorious over English Valleys 59-40.

It was all WACO from the start, with the Warriors striking for two touchdowns with two-point conversions in the first quarter to go up 16-0.  A field goal and another touchdown would put them farther ahead, despite the Bears’ two touchdowns in the second quarter, making the halftime score 27-12.  The Warriors would score five more touchdowns in the second half while giving up four, ending the game with a 59-40 victory.

It was the Colton Horak show in Wayland last night.  He accounted for three total touchdowns: one rushing one receiving, and taking one of his three interceptions to the house for a pick-six.  Nik Coble put on another good performance at quarterback, going 13 of 21 for 215 yards and four touchdowns.

The Warriors will have their work cut out for them next week, traveling to play ranked fourth-ranked New London.  Kickoff for that one is set for 7:00.
