The Columbus Wildcat football team has been preparing all week for their big homecoming matchup with Mediapolis.

The Wildcats enter the contest at 0-5 on the season after a loss last Friday at Van Buren 24-6, despite 103 all-purpose yards from Chance Colby. On the season, the Wildcats are led by Colby under center at 13 of 40 for 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His favorite target this year is Jaime Villegas with six catches for 52 yards and a touchdown. On the ground Colby is also the leader with 379 yards and two touchdowns on 81 carries.

Mediapolis comes into Friday with a perfect 5-0 record on the year after a 34-7 win over rival Wapello last week. The Bulldogs did it behind 164 yards and a touchdown on the ground from Zach Osborne. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 5 in the state in the current poll from the Associated Press. On the season they are led by Cauy Massner through the air with 55 attempts and 26 completions for 392 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions. His favorite target is Owen Timmerman with 11 catches for 178 yards and two scores. On the ground MEPO is led by Osborne with 572 yards and four touchdowns on 71 carries.

Action between the Wildcats and Bulldogs kickoffs off at 7:30 tonight.
