The Winfield-Mt. Union football team will have their work cut out for them tonight, hitting the road to take on New London.

Despite the 1-5 record, the Wolves have been putting points on the board consistently week-to-week.  The offense has averaged 22 points in their five losses, despite playing very quality teams like Iowa Valley and HLV.  But they’ll have perhaps their toughest test of the year tonight on the road, going up against a New London team that has routes opponents by a combined 298 points to 42.

The odds are stacked against them, but head coach Scott McCarty says he’s confident that his team can put on a good performance.

“We’ll be able to put something together and put our kids in a position to be competitive,” McCarty said.  “We’ll go down and worry about what we can control, and I guess we’ll see how the ball bounces.”

Kickoff in New London is set for 7:00.
