The Winfield-Mt. Union football team got its first win in nearly three years in week two, but lost a close one in week three to Montezuma 34-20.  This week, the Wolves take to the road for the first time since week zero to take on perhaps their toughest opponent of the year so far in #6 Iowa Valley.

WMU amped up the passing attack last week; Daunte Oepping threw more passes than he had in any game up to that point, and his completion percentage (70) spiked almost 40 percent from his previous game-high (31.3).  After a huge week two on the ground, though, the Wolves were held decently in check to 72 total rushing yards.

Adding week two’s ground success with last week’s aerial effort will be tough this week, though, going up against an undefeated Iowa Valley team.  WACO is the only team to even get within two scores of the Tigers this season, and nobody else came close to that.

Kickoff in Marengo is set for 7:00.
