While most of the happenings of the first quarter of the fiscal year were normal for the Washington County Recorder’s Office, one thing regarding home building was noticed. Recorder Jo Greiner presented the quarterly report at Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting, “We did have one thing of interest; we had a subdivision that was filed for the Pennsylvania Townhomes, the new townhomes over by Fareway. And that is the first housing subdivision the County has recorded that has more than two lots in over two years.” The last one was the Cherry Lane subdivision in Riverside in 2016. Greiner adds there have been some business subdivisions since then. The Pennsylvania Townhomes were constructed on the lot where the Goncho Building once stood, at the intersection of North Marion Avenue and West 3rd Street.
