Temperatures dropped in southeast Iowa recently and a freeze warning was issued from Monday night to Tuesday morning.

A freeze warning means that sub-freezing temperatures are highly likely and such conditions will harm or kill uncured crops and vegetation. Over the weekend temperatures dropped to 34 degrees in Washington Sunday. And just last Tuesday a high temperature of 81 degrees was observed. According to the National Weather Service, the average temperature in the first two weeks of October was 54.9 degrees, slightly below the normal mark of 55.1 degrees. Precipitation has been about four inches above normal at 5.4 inches. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
