Huskies drop L number two

After a 4-0 start to their season, the Highland football team has gone 1-2 in their last three games.  That second game in the loss column came this past Friday at home against Durant in a shutout, 14-0.

Trey Lasek has been the backbone of the offense all year long; he has crossed the 100-yard threshold in four of the Huskies’ five wins, tallying 97 yards in the fifth.  He has been stopped short of that in each of their losses, however, putting up 75 yards on 15 carries in Friday’s contest.  Those numbers are nothing to sneeze at (five yards per carry), but they just weren’t enough to get the job done against a stout Durant defense that was averaging just over 16 points per game going into Friday.

The Huskies’ next game comes on the road this coming Friday against Cardinal.  Kickoff in Eldon is scheduled for 7:00.
