Iowa Mennonite School and Winfield-Mt. Union Face Off in Regional Quarterfinals

A pair of KCII area teams will meet up in the quarterfinal round of the class 1A volleyball playoffs tonight in Winfield when Iowa Mennonite travels to meet the Wolves.

IMS comes into the match with an overall record of 19-14 after a first round sweep of Tri-County last week. On the season, IMS is led by Mia Graber with 232 kills, second most in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. Sami Miller has the team lead with 362 assists, fourth most in the conference. Suzanna Yoder leads the IMS defense with 421 digs, second most in the Superconference.

Winfield-Mt. Union comes into tonight’s match with an overall record of 14-14. They advanced through the first round last week with a sweep of Sigourney. On the year the Wolves are led by Jenna Buffington with 229 kills, fourth most in the Superconference. Kayla Edwards has the team lead and is second in the Superconference with 445 assists. Kyndal Townsley leads the WMU defense with 329 digs, third most in the Superconference.

These two teams met twice during the regular season with each team winning once. Action begins tonight at 7p.m. at Winfield-Mt. Union High School.
