Mid-Prairie students and staff are planning a community service trip to help the victims of Hurricane Florence.

At Monday’s Mid-Prairie School Board meeting ALC Administrator Amy Shalla and Behavioral Interventionist Matt Freel presented an update on the proposed trip. They estimated they would need to raise between $4,000-$7,500 in total to support the trip. Shalla and Freel asked for the board’s permission to start a “Go Fund Me” page and reach out to local businesses to cover travel expenses. The trip, if approved, would take place November 25-30th. The board encouraged Shalla and Freel to continue planning. This topic will be discussed further at the next board meeting, tentatively scheduled for October 22nd.
