At the most recent meeting of the Washington School board, certified enrollment numbers for the district were discussed.

Washington schools in total are expecting a decline of 40-50 students this academic year versus last year. With state funding correlating to $7,000 per individual, the district will lose more than $250,000 due to the decline. Washington Superintendent Willie Stone explained the foresight of past administration to address this issue and discussions on improvement.

Along with being the Washington Superintendent, Stone also serves on the Washington Economic Development Group.
