Washington XC Takes to Conference Meet

Fresh off their toughest meet of the year competition-wise, the Washington cross country teams will head down to Keokuk tonight, weather permitting, to run in the Southeast Conference meet.

With only five schools in the conference, this should be a nice change of pace from the 19+ that were at North Linn on Saturday.  With the way the kids have been improving, head coach Stefanie Haworth believes they’re poised for a successful night.

“Top ten [finishers] are considered all-conference.  I think we can get a couple on both the boys and girls’ sides,” Haworth said.  “It’s definitely not going to be an easy thing, but I think we’re capable of probably getting two on each side.”

Tonight’s meet will be at Elks Golf Course in Keokuk.  It’s currently set to start with the varsity girls race at 5:15.
