Washington’s Leaf Vacuum Ready for the Season

Yellow, red, and orange leaves are falling and will soon be vacuumed up in Washington. The City’s leaf vacuum will be picking up piles of leaves. Residents should rake their leaves to the terrace area, between the sidewalk and the street if they’d like the machine to pick up the foliage. The vacuum will start in the northwest part of town and operate in a counterclockwise rotation through November. The duration of the leaf vacuum program will depend on the weather and when the trees drop their leaves. Do not put leaves in the road, as it can cause drainage issues.
