Columbus’s Jose Cerezo and Chance Colby were the two lone seniors on the Wildcat football team this season.  They served as the team’s starting running back and quarterback, respectively, but also played on defense.  They did well enough on offense, but the defensive side is where they thrived.

At the end of the season, Colby and Cerezo finished at number one and number two 1A District Five in total tackles, respectively.  On top of that, they both were menaces toward opposing backfields, with Colby tying for second in the district in sacks and Cerezo finishing first in total tackles for loss.  Their defensive showings earned them each a spot on the first all-district team.
